Words From Our Customers.
Meet Evan. (Our Story)
Venture Wisconsin started as an idea on a used couch, in a dilapidated, college-rental living room while attending UW Oshkosh. Evan Freimuth however, started in a blue collar home in Appleton, WI.
Evan is like if Rick Steves raised a baby with Guy Fiery, and that kid went on to mentor under Steve Jobs, but then that kid tried to get Steve Jobs to actually care about his family.
Today, Evan likes his old fashioneds sweet and his beer sour. His growing family enjoys anything and everything outdoors. Their favorite activity is trying new coffee shops on road trips.
A Timeline of Venture Wisconsin
2014: While attending the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh (UWO) Evan came up with an app idea, like the popular dating app Tinder, but matching you with things to do in your town or on vacation.
2017: After three years, Evan finally gets accepted into UWO's two entrepreneurship pitch contests and eventually bombs, painfully stuttering for over 90 seconds in front of over 100 attendees and Craig Culver.
2017: Evan launches Venture Wisconsin and starts making videos with local businesses around Northeast Wisconsin as a test to see if what the app provides is needed in the real world.
2020: Venture Wisconsin launches its first product, the WI Brew Deck. A deck of cards with deals to explore local Wisconsin breweries.
2023: Venture Wisconsin is planning to launch five products this year plus a phase 1 version of the original vision for the app, developed by none other than Evan's college roommate.
Wisconsin Brew Deck
A deck of custom playing cards with deals to explore 66 local Wisconsin breweries. We filled the deck and expanded to include breweries across the entire state.
In addition to recruiting some of Wisconsin's best breweries and nearly doubling the number of locations to visit this year, we've improved the playing card quality with linen-finished poker cards for better handling and longer lasting cards.
